Tuesday Nights Championship Game was rained out, with both teams saddled with missing players through next week, the focus turns to a possible Aug. 1st Game in Berea coupled with a trip to the Browns Opening Day Training Camp visit.
INDEPENDENCE FALCONS ADVANCE TO FINAL GAME AS AMERICAN LEAGUE REGULAR SEASON & TOURNY CHAMPS Game #12 - Independence lead 3-0, before the Garfield Hts. Bandits tied the score at 3-3. The Falcons pull the win out in the bottom of the 7th with a 4-3 win, vaulting them to the League Championship against Avon Lake vision.
AVON LAKE REVENGES REGULAR SEASON RUNNER-UP STATUS, BY WINNING THE NATIONAL LEAGUE TOURNAMENT BRACKET Game #11 - Avon Lake jumps out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning, knocking Lorain's starter from the mound. The Vision increased the lead to almost double-digits but can't put the Hurricanes away as the game goes the distance with Lorain making it interesting with a late rally, but it is the Avon lake vision that advance to the League Championship with a 14-9 victory.

GENERAL GROUND RULES Teams are to use their CVBA Rostered Players ONLY. Each Team is to pay for 1 Umpire ($45) per each game played Each Team will provide at least 1 game ball per each game played. Two Independent Qualified Umpires will be scheduled for each game. No time limit. Run Rules apply (15 after 4, 10 after 5) Highest seed team will be the Home team throughout the tournament. All other CVBA Rules apply.

SEEDING - seeding will be set by the amount of points a team generates as of 11:59pm on July 13th, 2009, using the following format: (2-points for a Win, 1-point for a loss, 0-points for forfeit). In the event of a tie, the tie-breaker will be #1.) head-to-head 2.) runs given-up in head-to-head 3.) Coin toss. |

AWARDS - Trophies will be awarded to the Regular Season Winners of
the American League & the National League. However, the League winner with
the highest accumulated point total will be issued trophies that read
‘League Champs’ and the winner of the other division but of a lesser point
total will receive ‘Runner Up’ Trophies. Tournament Champions & Runner-ups will receive trophies as well. If you reach the final game in the tournament you are guaranteed hardware.
